UNAC Statement on the Recent UN Security Council
Resolution on Palestine
11/28/2025
UNAC, the United National Antiwar Coalition, was founded 15
years ago calling for an end to all U.S. aid to Israel and consistently
defending Palestinian self-determination and full sovereignty. Israel is the
largest recipient of U.S. aid in history. We need full, free health care and
education, decent housing and climate care, not endless war and genocide.
------------
On November 17 the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2803, a US‑driven scheme that hands Gaza’s governance to a Trump‑headed “Board of Peace” and a proxy “International Stabilization Force” that would operate in consultation with Israel while sidelining Palestinians—an overtly colonial move that extends occupation and continues the genocide by other means.

Let’s be clear: the UN Security Council today functions as a colonial relic and instrument of Western imperialism. History shows no UN body or UNSC vote will liberate anyone; what liberates is indigenous resistance—often armed—because occupation and colonization inevitably produce resistance. That is why we place our faith in the Palestinian resistance and the Axis of Resistance to end Zionism and US imperialism in Palestine and West Asia. For over 77 years Palestinian resistance has continued in many forms. For the past two years, the Palestinian resistance—together with allies across the region—has denied Israel a total takeover of Gaza; the people of Gaza are still standing and defending their land. This plan is unworkable and will unravel on the ground; any “stabilization force” tasked with disarming Palestinians will be seen as enforcing the occupation and will be rejected and defeated.
Our job in the West is to keep the bullseye on the root cause of the ongoing genocide —US imperialism and Zionism. The United States is a co‑perpetrator, has armed and financed the genocide, and shielded Israel, since its creation in 1948, despite its horrific crimes. There has been no real ceasefire as Israel continues its killings of Palestinians and blocking aid.
Palestine needs continued mass organized pressure where it matters most: ending U.S. weapons, logistics, funding, and impunity; defend Palestinian self‑determination; and build the broad movement—boycott, divestment, sanctions, legal action, mass protest and our full solidarity—that makes continuing the genocide too costly for the imperialists.
Our focus is on U.S. imperialism and Zionism—and keeping our faith where it belongs: in the Palestinian resistance and the Axis of Resistance to liberate Palestine and West Asia, not in farcical resolutions from a UN structure built to serve empire.
